We would like to take the opportunity to clear up some misinformation being promoted by our competitors.
Some competitors claim:
- Our machine is "unsafe" because we use too much ozone. FALSE In order to effectively kill bacteria and reduce odors, ozone needs to be used as a shock treatment. This requires high levels of ozone contained within a sealed environment, such as our stainless steel enclosure. The Fresh Gear machine is able to accomplish this, because we are UNIQUE in the fact that we use a proprietary ozone destruction process that brings the ozone levels down to a safe level before the machine can be opened.
- That theirs is the only product 'Made in North America'. FALSE The Fresh Gear machine is made in Canada. All of the components that go into it are made in the USA or in Canada .
- That theirs is the only product with results verified by an independent organization False Our lab tests were conducted by GAP EnviroMicrobial Lab in London, ON. We have the results on our website to prove it. Not only that, but those tests are based on actual swabs from the INSIDE of sports gear. The toughest places for ozone to reach. Our competitors publish results of their tests performed on the outside of athletics gear and in petri dishes. Are you paying someone to disinfect your petri dishes?
- That their product is the only one that sprays tea tree oil on your gear. (They call it "Eco-Mist
or" "APCS")
TRUE But after receiving feedback from hundreds of customers, it became clear that tea tree oil does little more than leave your gear smelling like cough syrup, and drastically adds to the cost of machine operation. Fresh Gear models are powered simply by a standard electrical outlet, and require no special oils or consumables for operation. - That they have a 90% market share. FALSE No company in this market has a 90% share, especially when you factor in over 120 locations that Fresh Gear has across North America.
- That they can fit more athletic equipment inside their machine using a shelving system.
TRUE But how effective is this? Think of it in this way, you can try to cram as many dishes as you can into your dishwasher, but how clean are your dishes when they come out? The best way to disinfect and deodorize sports gear is by ensuring ozone thoroughly penetrates the thick padding found in protective athletic gear. Fresh Gear has a shelving option that we recommend only for hard surface items.
